Magneto turns 12!
September 10, 2013  |  by Magneto Brand Advertising

Today is a sunny September 10 and Magneto has been around for 12 years. 12 glorious years. Looking back, our timing in opening this ad agency could not have been worse given that the 9/11 attacks occurred the following morning. Yet through that horrendous time, the Great Recession and many other trials, we have survived and prospered.

How have we weathered these storms? A few things have gotten us through it all: fantastic clients who have trusted us to do great work that elevates their brands, amazing employees – current and former – that have woven the very fabric of Magneto, and above all, principles that we started with and have stuck to.

Words to live by:

We don’t do borrowed interest. Our concepts directly reflect our clients’ brand benefits because we listen and get to the heart of the brand. Sounds like a no-brainer but it’s not. What’s easy is using a famous song or a personality to do the heavy lifting instead of an idea that comes organically from the brand.

We insist on high production values. We have always put the money into the production and not lined our pockets. It shows in the quality of the work we do. We’ve done great things with sometimes meager budgets. (We can also, however, do great work with larger budgets.)

We keep things simple. Our processes are simple. Our work is simple. Complexity doesn’t work well in advertising. People remember simple. Clients like simple.

We have a love for the game. It’s creative, eclectic, invigorating. Our enthusiasm shows in the results we achieve for our clients. It can be stressful and nerve wracking, yes, but at the end of the day we have fun.

Well, that’s our two cents for 12 years of our kind of success. So, readers, we’d like to thank you for being great clients, employees, partners, friends, advisors, confidants and drinking buddies through the years. We look forward to our bright future with you as Magneto marches on!

Thanks again,

Craig Opfer, Principal
