Last fall NW Natural launched the “Go Blue, Stay Cozy Video Challenge.” The purpose of the program was to drive additional traffic to the “NW Natural OFFERS” website during the peak heating season and create a fun way to increase awareness of the benefits of using natural gas. The campaign was considered successful, attracting over 5,000 unique visitors and 35 video entries.
NW Natural has decided to repeat the program again this fall, but this year there’s a twist. The Bring the Heat music video contest has added a musical element to the mix. Contestants must write song lyrics, after picking an appropriate tune from the NW Natural music library, and film their masterpiece for submission. Top videos will have a chance of winning one of several fabulous prizes, including a new gas furnace or fireplace.
Magneto was asked to assist in the marketing efforts again this year. We came up with the name for the contest as well as created its look and feel. We also created promotional materials including posters, coasters, and a funny promotional video that can be seen when visiting the nwnaturaloffers.com webpage. The posters and coasters will be showing up around town at venues where aspiring singers, songwriters, filmmakers and other creative types hang out.
