Magneto recently joined forces with Andy Batt Studios in the production of a new television commercial for United Way of the Columbia-Willamette.
The TV spot called “Timeline” shows a man’s life on a timeline–in reverse. The spot uses a stop-motion technique utilizing literally hundreds of photographs. The story begins with the man, “Charles,” taking a group of kids on a nature walk and works backwards to glimpse previous moments in his life such as a job promotion, rehabilitation and to darker times when he is arrested while living on the street.
The spot demonstrates that without people’s support to United Way of the Columbia-Willamette, people like Charles are at risk of a downward spiral. With support they can change their situation and be valued, productive members of the community.
The commercial begins airing today on KGW TV and Comcast cable channels.
Special thanks to Mission Control for editorial and Digital One for audio expertise in post-production. Also, a big thanks to Mike Vaughn for his compelling voiceover.
