Hotel Eastlund, the first luxury boutique hotel on Portland’s Eastside, opened its doors to the public on June 1, 2015.
To promote its opening, Magneto was enlisted to assist with several key components – ranging from PR to a highly-targeted email invitation campaign for the hotel’s Grand Opening Gala – to generate excitement and interest about the new hotel.
Public Relations
Magneto’s public relations team launched the pre-opening campaign while Hotel Eastlund was finishing up construction. Magneto created a comprehensive media kit that was distributed to hospitality industry media across the U.S. and placed on the Hotel Eastlund website. Members of the media were invited to take hard-hat tours during construction. Since March, the hotel has earned coverage in many local and national publications, touting the Hotel Eastlund as one of the first major entities completed in the Eastside Lloyd District’s makeover.
Email Campaigns
Magneto designed and implemented the Gala event invitation email campaign that included three phases: save-the-date, invitation and reminder emails.
The graphic look for the Gala utilized Hotel Eastlund’s bold colors, elegant type and striking images of the hotel.
Hotel Eastlund estimated event attendees at over 1,200, well over the requested head count, making it a very successful event.
Odds and Ends
Small details add to success. Magneto designed and printed Hotel Eastlund stickers to help identify staff throughout the Gala. We also created itinerary and information sign boards that were placed around the hotel to help guide guests to featured areas and live musical performances. Each piece seamlessly fit the event’s look and feel, while providing helpful information for guests.
